Dimensions – 19.5″ x 8″ x 17″ high
Materials used – Live edge figured maple, white cedar, geode rock
This was a fun project to do, I wanted to make an impression of a landscape with water and reflection. I had a piece of the live edge maple that had a bit of a bow and a twist so this seemed like a good way to use it. The tree part of the shelf was roughed out with the band saw and then carved with various hand tools. I hot glued the rock to some scrap and used the skill saw with a concrete blade to cut it in half. I think it turned out pretty good, and the materials used were all collected in the past, by myself of a family member.
Challenge – Trying to get a photo to show the “reflection”
Suggestions for next build-off Make a frame for that neglected picture that needs to be hung up.
