My daughter and I spend quite a bit of time in our garage, which doubles as our shop, building various projects for friends, family and our own home. We saw your post on Facebook about the Wall Shelf Build-off and thought it would be a great project for us to work on together. I try to introduce her to new tools and techniques frequently and this project was no exception; this was her first time bending wood using a lamination technique.
A suggestion for the next build-off could be a clock or a shop bench.
Thank you for the inspiration for another weekend in the shop with my daughter!
This was built in 2 days ?steam bending .curved arches, assembly, prep, finishing and managed to hang it on a wall!
my daughter grew up in my shop “literally”
4500sf shop we lived in 1000sf suite I built in it -off it. now she is all grown done University and off living her own life .I miss those days
enjoy.

Thank you Dan! That’s great! Our shop doubles as our garage, about 1000 sq ft. We put an addition on a couple years ago that serves as a tool crib.
To build the arches we laminated 5 pieces of 1/8″ thick material and clamped it overnight in a form; by. We had 15 hours in this project from start to finish.
